Disability & Development is one of the thrust areas where CCD emphasizing on socio-economic empowerment of persons with disabilities(PWDs) in Gajapati. To organize the PWDs, CCD has promoted 92 SHGs of PWDs from different corners of Gajapati District involving 900 members from all category of disability. One District level Disable Peoples' Organization (DPO) was also promoted in the name of SAMARTH. The members are raising their monthly savings and taking loan according to their needs. REHASWISS - a Switzerland based donor agency is supporting for the capacity building of the PWDs since 2004. for economic enhancement, micro credit support has been provided to 250 PWDs worth of Rs. 20,20,000/- as a revolving fund. Apart from this, 247 PWDs have been supported from Gajapati Women Self Help Cooperative ltd worth of Rs. 18,00,500/-. The PWD members have taken the following trades for regular income generation.
